What's in a Name?

The Salubrious Place complex, at the bottom of Wind Street, is a familiar landmark to anyone driving into Swansea today. As Swansea residents may know, the complex has recently been taken over by the property firm Mansford - and they're looking for a new name for the site, which better reflects Swansea's rich history and heritage. A competition (now closed to new entries) has invited local people to put forward names for the complex, and a winner will be announced soon.

We've been advising the competition organisers on some of the historical background and context, as they look at the range of suggested names. But, like you, we'll have to wait until the winner is revealed to know the site's new name! It's great to think that this landmark building might soon have a name which showcases something of Swansea's unique history and identity.
