Our pavement marker design!

It's with great excitement that we can now reveal the working design for the pavement markers which will soon be installed in Swansea city centre. The series of 17 markers will show locations and features of medieval Swansea (most of which are no longer visible) and will connect to interactive, GPS-enabled digital tour resources, as well as a traditional paper tour leaflet.

This design was produced by Bright 3D, who are working on interpretation of Swansea Castle. The central image is based on pictures of the medieval Welsh king, Llewellyn the Great. The 'arch' design around the outside of the marker was inspired by the arcading of Swansea Castle, and echoes the detail of our 'City Witness' project logo.

Look out for the installation of these markers around in Swansea in the coming weeks! The associated digital content will go live at the end of June.
